“Enl!ghten: Kitsap Community Forum is pleased to have Paul Bannick, award-winning author, and wildlife photographer present his latest photos. His most recent book, Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls integrates more than 200 new intimate and dramatic images, up-to-date science about owls and first-hand experience based upon tens of thousands of hours spent with owls on their territories in the wild.
He documents rare images as the owls move through each stage of their life: courtship, mating, and nesting in spring; feeding of young and fledging in summer; dispersal and gaining independence in fall; and finally, winter’s migrations and competitions for food. The book shows how owls use the unique resources available to them in each habitat to overcome the challenges of each season. Visit his website at www.paulbannick.com.
Kitsap Audubon Society (KAS) will cohost this event. Find out what KAS is doing to foster and preserve birds and their habitats.
Paul's books and a new 2019 calendar "Owls" will be available for purchase and signing. A signed calendar will be raffled at the end of the evening.
